When you need to take your pet dog with you on a journey in the car you know that they will make some kind of mess, whether it be mud, hair or saliva. Treat the situation just as you would if you have a child so that you can give your pet the best protection when you are travelling.
Plan ahead if you plan to be gone overnight: if you are planning a longer journey than just a day, make sure to plan ahead for pet-friendly accommodations, places along the way where you can stop for your dog to use the bathroom and run around, and stretch their legs.
